Titanium Koa Wood Ring (6 & 8mm wide)

We perfected our wood rings creating the first tungsten Koa rings and passed that knowledge on to create the best titanium wood rings available. It all comes down to the koa wood. Sure you can find cheap "koa" rings with questionable wood, but we hand pick and finish our "curly" grained Koa from the Big Island of Hawaii. Why does this matter? Only the tightest (and therefore most rare and expensive) curly Koa will undulate in the light...the wood looks like it's moving. Pictures can't do it justice.

  • Hawaiian "curly" Koa wood in a waterproof resin setting
  • extremely light weight and 4x's harder than platinum
  • comfort fit
  • lifetime warranty
  • Complimentary white glove exchange for proper fit
  • only dead or dying trees used...no need to feel guilty
  • Free and Fast Shipping...we make a bunch, send them to our shipping peeps in NC and they send it out next business day...for the win!
  • Thoughtful Gift, beautifully packaged for easy gifting...you just tell the story.

The lightest band we make. The beveled edge tungsten is the original if you want more heft — see every profile in koa wood rings.

TITANIUM, THE LIGHTER CHOICE

Titanium wood rings are great for those who love a lightweight life proof ring.  You'll hardly notice that it's on you finger due to the weight.  The resin over the wood inlay also ensures the wood will last a lifetime free from water and whatever abuse you throw at it.

FOCUS ON THE KOA, OF COURSE

It comes down to finding the most spectacular Koa wood, period...and we spend the time. Koa has lent itself to create everything that is wonderful about the Hawaiian Islands and its culture.  From the first outrigger canoes and surfboards to ukulele's and warrior's weapons, Koa deserves its place as the cultural anchor of Hawaii.  We personally select our Koa Wood from dead or dying trees from the Big Island of Hawaii...that's the fun part. 6mm wide titanium and curly koa wood inlay ring

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Titanium Koa Wood Ring?

Our lightweight Koa wood ring — a titanium body with a curly Hawaiian Koa wood inlay. Titanium is about 60% lighter than tungsten, so you'll barely notice it on your finger. Comfort-fit interior for all-day wear. Available in 6mm and 8mm widths.

What is titanium?

Titanium is one of the lightest metals used in jewelry — about 60% lighter than tungsten. You'll barely notice it on your finger. It's hypoallergenic, corrosion-proof, and about 4x harder than platinum. For those who don't love the weight of tungsten but still want a life-proof wood ring, titanium is the answer.

Is the ring waterproof?

Yes — fully waterproof for everyday wear. The Koa wood inlay is sealed within the ring which protects it against moisture. Safe for showering, swimming, dishes, and daily water exposure. For extended saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water afterward and dry.

What sizes do you offer?

US sizes 4.5 through 13, including half sizes. If you're between sizes, size up — Koa wood does not stretch. Free size exchanges on all rings. If you're new to ring sizing, visit any jeweler for a professional measurement.

What's the difference between Titanium and Tungsten Koa rings?

Both use the same curly Hawaiian Koa wood inlay and comfort-fit interior. Where they differ:

• Titanium — much lighter (60% lighter than tungsten), softer feel on the finger, 4x harder than platinum. Best for those who don't love the weight of a heavy ring.

• Tungsten — heavier, more substantial feel, 6x harder than titanium and essentially scratchproof. Best for those who want maximum durability and a solid presence.

Both carry our lifetime warranty.

Can I return the ring if the size doesn't fit?

Yes — free size exchanges on all rings. If your ring doesn't fit, contact us and we'll send a replacement in the correct size. The Koa wood inlay makes ring sizing a bit trickier than plain metal rings (Koa doesn't resize), so we designed the exchange process to be painless.

Is the Koa wood in the ring sustainably sourced?

Yes. All Pono Woodworks Koa comes from dead or dying trees on private land on the Big Island — no live-tree harvesting. Only curly-grade Koa (less than 1% of available Koa) is used. Sourcing this way supports Hawaiian forest health and provides income to ranchers who protect old-growth stands.

What makes Pono Koa Rings better than all the other wood rings available?

We started the tungsten Koa ring trend and still make the best. There's plenty of copy cats that don't use Hawaiian Koa wood (even here in Hawaii)…they usually use wood from Australia that looks similar. We can identify where our wood was harvested down to a couple hundred feet on the Big Island. We don't just use any Koa Wood, I waited 10 years for the current batch of curly Koa. The density of curl and depth of light shine just does not become available often.

Beautiful ring

I love how the Koa wood glistens on this ring. I have other koa wood products and none have the glow this ring does in the light. Fit is right on for the size.

New wedding band after 50 years

Many years ago I bought a Koa wedding band from another company while in Hawaii on vacation. It was 2.5 times more expensive than what I ordered from Pono (not including the vacation trip to Hawaii) and also 8mm wide and Tungsten. This Titanium ring is only 6mm and light as a feather. It looks great and the cost was really nice. Great company to do business with!

Bought a spare because I misplaced my spare

Love my original 8mm wide titanium koa wood ring. Most of the time 12.5mm is perfect fitment for comfort and snugness. In extreme cold conditions, maybe it risks sliding past knuckle, but this is rare in Southern California. What I did notice was in high humidity Maui & Florida my hands swell, so a 13mm would likely be the correct choice when traveling. Majority of last year this size was unavailable. Returned my 2 alternate wedding bands tungsten and gunmetal in exchange for a 13mm titanium band. Then proceeded to immediately lose it somewhere at work or home. Went online, saw the 13mm was available and for an amazing price ordered a spare for my misplaced spare. As luck would have it, the gods smiled upon me and I found my missing spare. It's ok because my wife and I like the 2nd spare better than the 1st......and god help me if I ever misplace the original.

Sending back wrong size

How do I return the ring for 1/2 size smaller.

Aloha Michelle,
Thanks for the note. Not a problem on exchanging the size. If you go to the 'support' section on the website, it'll walk you through the process. Basically, we will send out a new one and a return label so you can re-use the packaging to send back the old. Hope that helps..

Titanium Koa Wood Ring 8mm

Gave this ring to my husband for his birthday and he loves it. The look of the koa and the fit. Wish you could integrate the abalone in the ring to match the cuff he had bought me. But we are both very happy and love your work! And would buy again..

Lanakila

I think the word "lanakila" in Hawaiian means champion, hero, victor. That's what comes to mind at the mention of Pono Woodworks and its staff. The rings are absolutely gorgeous, lightweight, comfortable. and meaningful, thanks to the Koa wood. We can't stop admiring them, as in the sun they seem to change constantly. However, what impressed us the most, is Pono Woodworks' creativity and uniqueness. All the emails we received, which normally are standard and boring across all industries, have brought us laughter and smiles. Well done, Pono Woodworks, well done! You deserve the title of Lanakila.

This is a beautiful ring

I bought as a gift for my husband. It is beautiful. He just loves it. He started wearing it as a wedding ring cause its more comfortable. I also want to state what a wonderful experience I had working with this company. The ring I ordered originally was to tight I wrote to the company and he found a size 14 that he just happened to have and sent it out to me to see if it would fit better. It fits perfectly, it was a pleasure doing business with you Brett.
