TITANIUM, THE LIGHTER CHOICE
Titanium wood rings are great for those who love a lightweight life proof ring. You'll hardly notice that it's on you finger due to the weight. The resin over the wood inlay also ensures the wood will last a lifetime free from water and whatever abuse you throw at it.
FOCUS ON THE KOA, OF COURSE
It comes down to finding the most spectacular Koa wood, period...and we spend the time. Koa has lent itself to create everything that is wonderful about the Hawaiian Islands and its culture. From the first outrigger canoes and surfboards to ukulele's and warrior's weapons, Koa deserves its place as the cultural anchor of Hawaii. We personally select our Koa Wood from dead or dying trees from the Big Island of Hawaii...that's the fun part. Read the full Hawaiian Koa Wood Story →

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Titanium Koa Wood Ring?
Our lightweight Koa wood ring — a titanium body with a curly Hawaiian Koa wood inlay. Titanium is about 60% lighter than tungsten, so you'll barely notice it on your finger. Comfort-fit interior for all-day wear. Available in 6mm and 8mm widths.
What is titanium?
Titanium is one of the lightest metals used in jewelry — about 60% lighter than tungsten. You'll barely notice it on your finger. It's hypoallergenic, corrosion-proof, and about 4x harder than platinum. For those who don't love the weight of tungsten but still want a life-proof wood ring, titanium is the answer.
Is the ring waterproof?
Yes — fully waterproof for everyday wear. The Koa wood inlay is sealed within the ring which protects it against moisture. Safe for showering, swimming, dishes, and daily water exposure. For extended saltwater exposure, rinse with fresh water afterward and dry.
What sizes do you offer?
US sizes 4.5 through 13, including half sizes. If you're between sizes, size up — Koa wood does not stretch. Free size exchanges on all rings. If you're new to ring sizing, visit any jeweler for a professional measurement.
What's the difference between Titanium and Tungsten Koa rings?
Both use the same curly Hawaiian Koa wood inlay and comfort-fit interior. Where they differ:
• Titanium — much lighter (60% lighter than tungsten), softer feel on the finger, 4x harder than platinum. Best for those who don't love the weight of a heavy ring.
• Tungsten — heavier, more substantial feel, 6x harder than titanium and essentially scratchproof. Best for those who want maximum durability and a solid presence.
Both carry our lifetime warranty.
Can I return the ring if the size doesn't fit?
Yes — free size exchanges on all rings. If your ring doesn't fit, contact us and we'll send a replacement in the correct size. The Koa wood inlay makes ring sizing a bit trickier than plain metal rings (Koa doesn't resize), so we designed the exchange process to be painless.
Is the Koa wood in the ring sustainably sourced?
Yes. All Pono Woodworks Koa comes from dead or dying trees on private land on the Big Island — no live-tree harvesting. Only curly-grade Koa (less than 1% of available Koa) is used. Sourcing this way supports Hawaiian forest health and provides income to ranchers who protect old-growth stands.
What makes Pono Koa Rings better than all the other wood rings available?
We started the tungsten Koa ring trend and still make the best. There's plenty of copy cats that don't use Hawaiian Koa wood (even here in Hawaii)…they usually use wood from Australia that looks similar. We can identify where our wood was harvested down to a couple hundred feet on the Big Island. We don't just use any Koa Wood, I waited 10 years for the current batch of curly Koa. The density of curl and depth of light shine just does not become available often.
