No big deal...just the straight awesomeness of the most amazing Hawaiian curly grained Koa on the planet. Our Honu Reef design draws inspiration from the turtles that call the islands home. Turns out, it actually is a pretty big deal.
We are proud to say our wood iPhone cases are carried in over 50 stores throughout the Hawaiian Islands. The cases are a combination of hard plastic backer and soft TPU sides which will bounce when dropped...we don't recommend testing that although we're pretty sure you'll find out eventually. All this work to create a one of a kind reminder of the islands...The Islands are Calling.
...sure it's amazing looking but that's just the start of it's story. We source our Koa from fallen or dying trees from private ranches on the Big Island of Hawaii. The curly grain pattern is the most rare and expensive and we use only the most beautiful (and therefore expensive). The current log we are using cost more than my truck...and it's a pretty nice truck. I personally hand sand, finish, etch, cut, ink and assemble all the cases going out of our shop. Hopefully this year I learn to delegate.
Last year I personally made over seven thousand phone cases...that's not a typo. During those efforts, I've learned a few things more than how to relieve aching finger pain and the marvels of watching Netflix into the wee hours of the morning. I found the case that everybody loves...it's not too thick, plenty of bounce if dropped, gripies (that's the technical term) on the side, and a protective lip for the front side. It's everything you need and nothing you don't.
Check out the video below. The islands are calling...answer already. No really, this is all I got. It's time to pull the trigger.
