Our cases are hand made in Hawaii, in our tiny shop, by one dude (aka. the owner, aka me) with amazing Koa wood that I personally hand select from dead or dying trees. How we source our Koa wood helps perpetuate the cycle of keeping Koa available for future generations. We don't use cheap(er) plain koa and we certainly don't use printed synthetic Koa..we can trace our trees down to the side of the mountain they came from.

We added two new features with this case and we are super excited as we've been making the same cases for over a decade (it was time to add some innovation). The new design adds two things most wood cases can’t: MagSafe that actually holds, and a phone kick stand that folds right out of the camera frame. We inset the magsafe into the back of the wood so you get a smooth solid face of Koa goodness.

It took over a year, but we created the best wood magsafe case on the market.  The dirty little secret is that wood and magnets don't love each other so a lot of "wood Magsafe" cases end up hardly holding the wallet or charger.  We seat super strong magnets just under the solid koa wood so you get a genuine wood back and a Magsafe snap that actually grabs--whatever accessory you throw at it.

Bonus Time: A Kick-Stand that Holds Horizontal or Vertically

We built a fold out kickstand into the bezel around the camera.  You'd hardly know it was there...and that's kinda the point.  It doesn't take away from the aesthetic Koa wood amazingness. That said, it's super functional and props up your phone on its side or vertically. Supremely handy for proping up a show on the plane, a recipe on the counter or hands free FaceTime - no extra ring, no stick on gadget, nothing to loose.  We've found, it's the kind of feature you pooopoood until you tried it, now your stuck needing it.

We hold out for the most amazing curly koa figured grain...that means we wait a long time between purchases of Koa (usually 4-5 years).. it doesnt surface that often, and when it does, load the boat...we go all in.  The figured tiger stripe looking grain is found in less than 1% of Koa and creates the chatoyance-- the shimmer that shifts in the light.  Your case looks like no one else's because it is truly unique.  Our designs add a level of Hawaiian style vibes that give you just enough customization to find what resonates with you.  Each one is made to order from our small shop in Honolulu.
