Staring at Koa all day, while magical, does get a bit old sometimes. California Redwood burl is one of my favorites...and we just so happen to have some amazing pieces floating around the shop. We certainly have to thank Mother Nature for these remarkable wooden phone cases. Sure we've been busy sanding, polishing and cutting, but She's spent decades growing the burl knobs on the Redwood trees. The result of our combined efforts is a one of a kind, handmade wooden case that literally brings a bit of the forest home to you.
We are proud to say our wood iPhone cases are carried in over 50 stores throughout the Hawaiian Islands. We use only the most beautiful (and expensive) burl redwood which I personally sand, etch, cut and assemble. The cases are a combination of hard plastic backer and soft TPU sides which will bounce when dropped...we don't recommend testing that although we're pretty sure you'll find out eventually. All this work to create a one of a kind reminder of the Redwoods.
...sure it's amazing looking but that's just the start of it's story. We source our Koa from fallen or dying trees from private ranches on the Big Island of Hawaii. The curly grain pattern is the most rare and expensive and we use only the most beautiful (and therefore expensive). The current log we are using cost more than my truck...and it's a pretty nice truck. I personally hand sand, finish, etch, cut, ink and assemble all the cases going out of our shop. Hopefully this year I learn to delegate.
Last year I personally made over seven thousand phone cases...that's not a typo. During those efforts, I've learned a few things more than how to relieve aching finger pain and the marvels of watching Netflix into the wee hours of the morning. I found the case that everybody loves...it's not too thick, plenty of bounce if dropped, gripies (that's the technical term) on the side, and a protective lip for the front side. It's everything you need and nothing you don't.
Check out the video below. The islands are calling...answer already. No really, this is all I got. It's time to pull the trigger.
My husband and I were in Maui a few years ago. He purchased that caae for his phone. He recently got a new phone and of course the original case didn't fit. So glad I was able to find the same one for his new phone.
The iPhone 13 Pro case that I received was very well made and was just like the one I previously had for my iPhone 6s years ago. Although I’ve never dropped my phone, I have found the case to be very light weight, which is fantastic since I’ve got the phone in my pocket while I run or walk. I really love how the rims have great clearance so that the screen does not make contact with a surface if dropped. The phone is very secure and snug within the case. If you look to the side, there’s a place now that allows one to attach a strap or phone charm! Thank you so much Brett! I highly recommend these cases! My case came to me within a week! Will buy again for next phone in several years again! Cheers!
Since we visited Hawaii some years ago, we used the Koa Wood iPhone Cases. Changing the phone is always a long decision period, because the cases do not match. Fortunately you send them around the world, so we can get a new one for our new phone. Thank you very much for this service.
Couldn’t be happier with my new Pono phone case. Fits my iPhone SE perfectly. The grain in the Koa wood is stunning and the artwork design of Honu on the reef exceptional.
Functional, fits well and beautiful to look at.
