Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Koa + Stainless iWatch Band?
We added iWatch adapters to our stainless steel band with Koa inlay. Classic style Stainless band, enhanced with our hand inlaid Koa…completed in our shop in Honolulu. The band has a hidden butterfly clasp for a continuous look.
Which Apple Watch models does it fit?
This is the 24mm width — it fits the larger Apple Watch cases (42/44/45/46mm). Adapters come installed so it slides straight into your watch.
How is this different from the all-wood band?
This one is mostly stainless with a Koa inlay — heavier, cooler on the skin, and reads as a metal band with a wood accent. The all-wood band is the opposite: warm, light, and reads as a wood band with metal accents. Both look great; it comes down to whether you want your watch band to lead with wood or with metal.
Can I resize it myself?
Yes — the stainless links pop out with a standard watch-band tool, just like any metal watch band. Easy to do with a watch sizing tool or take to any watch shop which can size it in 5 minutes.
Will the Koa inlay hold up to daily wear?
Yes — the Koa is sealed and set flush into the stainless so it can't catch or lift. Water and sweat are fine. The stainless takes the hits, the Koa keeps the character.
What's special about the Hawaiian Koa wood?
We use only the most rare and beautiful "curly" grained Koa from the Big Island of Hawaii — the tightest curl density is what makes the wood look like it's moving in the light. Pictures really can't do it justice. I waited 10 years for the current log of curly Koa. The wood is sustainably harvested from dead or dying trees on private land — no live-tree harvesting — and hand-finished in our shop in Honolulu.
