Pono Woodworks was founded in 2013 by Brett Gontarek. Every Koa piece is hand-finished in a small shop in Honolulu. Koa is a Hawaiian native hardwood that grows nowhere else on Earth; the "curly" grade we specialize in is under 1% of available Koa.
